Bid Date: 8/20/12, 2:00 pm PST Mandatory Walk Thru: 8/2/12, 9:00 am PST, North side of Pier 59 MAP Description: Pier 60 is a cast-in-place concrete building that was built in 1977 and houses exhibits of marine mammals. The Aquarium is open to the public 364 days a year from 0930 to 1800 and has many evening events. Work includes demolition and removal of creosote covered timber piling, deck & railing at the Finger Pier and Loading Dock and installation of steel pilings, concrete apron, and railings. Work hours can be 24/7 as mutually agreed in advance with the Owner; under-pier Work will be limited by tidal conditions, all in-water work must be Substantially Complete by February 15, 2013 and coordinated with daily Aquarium operations. Description:  Work includes removal and replacement of unsound concrete, corroded concrete reinforcement, installation of cathodic protection, and removal and replacement of special marine coatings.
